If I may offer a suggestion, I would say to work on the dialog more. The main character seems to be in the standard position of having no idea what's going on, which is fine in itself, but it seems so decontextualized that this character could fit into any story. Maybe try to infer elements about the character, backstory, and game world more through the protagonist's dialog, instead of the protagonist just asking the generic: "what? who are you? what's going on?" I think you did it more with the secondary character, which was good.
